SYNOPSIS: Why is this day the most important day of the year? Why does Yehovah on this day say if you work on this day, “I will destroy you”? Why on this day does the King of kings say to deny yourself three times? Why on this day do we go beyond the veil? Why is this the holiest day of the year for true followers of Messiah?

Lev 23:28  You are not to do any kind of work on that day, because it is Yom-Kippur, to make atonement for you before YEHOVAH your God. Lev 23:29  Anyone who does not deny himself on that day is to be cut off from his people;

 

Atonement Agreement; concord; reconciliation, after enmity or controversy.

Num 12:5  YEHOVAH came down in a column of cloud and stood at the entrance to the tent. He summoned Aharon and Miryam, and they both went forward. Num 12:6  He said, "Listen to what I say: when there is a prophet among you, I, YEHOVAH, make myself known to him in a vision, I speak with him in a dream. Num 12:7  But it isn't that way with my servant Moshe. He is the only one who is faithful in my entire household. Num 12:8  With him I speak face to face and clearly, not in riddles; he sees the image of YEHOVAH. So why weren't you afraid to criticize my servant Moshe?"

1st Corinthians 13:12-13 face to face.

1Co 13:12  For now we see obscurely in a mirror, but then it will be face to face. Now I know partly; then I will know fully, just as God has fully known me. 1Co 13:13  But for now, three things last — trust, hope, love; and the greatest of these is love.

 

Vayikra (Lev) 16:11-13 he will make atonement for himself and his household. Lev 16:11  "Aharon is to present the bull of the sin offering for himself; he will make atonement for himself and his household; he is to slaughter the bull of the sin offering which is for himself. Lev 16:12  He is to take a censer full of burning coals from the altar before YEHOVAH and, with his hands full of ground, fragrant incense, bring it inside the curtain. Lev 16:13  He is to put the incense on the fire before YEHOVAH, so that the cloud from the incense will cover the ark-cover which is over the testimony, in order that he not die.

 

Vayikra (Lev) 16:12-17 No one is to be present.

Lev 16:17  No one is to be present in the tent of meeting from the time he enters the Holy Place to make atonement until the time he comes out, having made atonement for himself, for his household and for the entire community of Isra'el.

 

Yesha’yahu (Isa) 4:3-5 like a hupah.

Isa 4:3  Those left in Tziyon and remaining in Yerushalayim will be called holy, and everyone in Yerushalayim written down for life. Isa 4:4  When YEHOVAH washes away the filth of the women of Tziyon and cleanses Yerushalayim from the blood shed in it with a blast of searing judgment, Isa 4:5  YEHOVAH will create over the whole site of Mount Tziyon and over those who assemble there a smoking cloud by day and a shining, flaming fire by night; for the Glory will be over everything like a hupah.
