Culture of life vs Culture of death

 

Scripture: Yechezk'el (Eze) 33:1-6 The watchmen presents truth without an agenda.

SYNOPSIS: What is the definition between a culture of life verse a culture of death? Does anyone know, does anyone care? You should know and you should defiantly care says the watchman. In this HaShabbat lesson we are going to explore these two topics. Also we are going to explore does the gentiles have to follow the Old Testament laws? What does YEHOVAH mean when HE said “be holy for I AM holy”? Do the same things apply to Jew & Gentile?

SPEAKS - H1696 דּבר dâbar BDB Definition: to speak, declare, converse, command, promise, warn, threaten, sing

 

D’varim (Deut) 30:1-20 I have presented you with life and death.

Deu 30:8  but you will return and pay attention to what YEHOVAH says and obey all his mitzvot which I am giving you today. Deu 30:9  Then YEHOVAH your God will give you more than enough in everything you set out to do - the fruit of your body, the fruit of your livestock, and the fruit of your land will all do well; for YEHOVAH will once again rejoice to see you do well, just as he rejoiced in your ancestors.

HASHABBAT LESSON 2: YOU ARE TO BE HOLY, WHY? Vayikra (Lev) 19:1-2 'You people are to be holy because I, YEHOVAH your God, am holy.

Lev 19:1  YEHOVAH said to Moshe, Lev 19:2  "Speak to the entire community of Isra'el; tell them, 'You people are to be holy because I, YEHOVAH your God, am holy.

Vayikra (Lev) 11:43-45 Consecrate and do not make yourself detestable in any way.

Lev 11:43  You are not to make yourselves detestable with any of these swarming, crawling creatures; do not make yourselves unclean with them, do not defile yourselves with them.

 

DETESTABLE - H8262 שׁקץ shâqats BDB Definition: 1) to detest, make abominable, count filthy, make detestable

Vayikra (Lev) 20:1-8 Consecrate yourselves turn away from fornicating with other god’s.

Lev 20:7  Therefore consecrate yourselves — you people must be holy, because I am YEHOVAH your God.

 

CONSECRATE - H6942 קדשׁ qâdash BDB Definition: 1) to consecrate, sanctify, prepare, dedicate, be hallowed, be holy, be sanctified, be separate 2) be set apart, be consecrated 3) to show oneself sacred or majestic
