Verses: Yochanan (Jn) 6:22-29 for the food that stays on into eternal life.

 

SYNOPSIS: What happens to a nation who people refuse to work? Will YEHOVAH bless or curse that nation? Why does YEHOVAH tell us to work six days? Are you a sibling of the destroyer? What does YESHUA mean by this; Joh 6:27 Don't work for the food which passes away but for the food that stays on into eternal life?

 

HASHABBAT LESSON 1: WORK. Yochanan (Jn) 6:22-29 for the food that stays on into eternal life. Proverb 18:9 Lazy. Mattiyahu (Mat) 5:6-10 siblings who are not lazy pursue righteousness. Pro 18:9  Whoever is lazy in doing his work is brother to the destroyer. 

 

DESTROYER: H7843  שׁחת  shâchath BDB Definition: 1) to destroy, corrupt, go to ruin, decay 2) to be marred, be spoiled, be corrupted, be corrupt, be injured, be ruined, be rotted

 

Mattiyahu (Mat) 5:6-10 siblings who are not lazy pursue righteousness.

Mat 5:10  "How blessed are those who are persecuted because they pursue righteousness! for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

 

RIGHTEOUSNESS: G1343 δικαιοσύνη dikaiosunē  Thayer Definition: 1) in a broad sense: state of him who is as he ought to be, righteousness, the condition acceptable to God 2) the doctrine concerning the way in which man may attain a state approved of God 3) integrity, virtue, purity of life, rightness, correctness of thinking feeling, and acting

 

Joh 6:27  Don't work for the food which passes away but for the food that stays on into eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For this is the one on whom God the Father has put his seal." 

 

WORK: G2038 ἐργάζομαι ergazomai Thayer Definition: 1) to work, labor, do work 2) to trade, to make gains by trading, “do business”

Deu 8:3  He humbled you, allowing you to become hungry, and then fed you with man, which neither you nor your ancestors had ever known, to make you understand that a person does not live on food alone but on everything that comes from the mouth of YEHOVAH.

Vayikra (Lev) 23:1-3 work 6 days.

Lev 23:2  "Tell the people of Isra'el: 'The designated times of YEHOVAH which you are to proclaim as holy convocations are my designated times. 

Lev 23:3  " 'Work is to be done on six days; but the seventh day is a Shabbat of complete rest, a holy convocation; you are not to do any kind of work; it is a Shabbat for YEHOVAH, even in your homes. 

 

WORK: H4399  מלאכה melâ'kâh BDB Definition: 1) occupation, work, business 2) work (something done or made) 3) service,

 

 

B’resheet (Gen) 2:1-3 follow this example, and blessings follow you.

Gen 2:2  On the seventh day God was finished with his work which he had made, so he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 

Gen 2:3  God blessed the seventh day and separated it as holy; because on that day God rested from all his work which he had created, so that it itself could produce. 

 

Proverbs 21:25-26 refusing to work causes death.

Pro 21:25  A lazy man's craving will kill him, because his hands refuse to work— 

Pro 21:26  he covets greedily all day long; but a righteous person gives without holding back. 

 

Ya’akov (James) 1:22-25 but a doer of the work it requires.

 

Jas 1:25  But if a person looks closely into the perfect Torah, which gives freedom, and continues, becoming not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work it requires, then he will be blessed in what he does. 

 

Work towards the finish line

 

Work to remove those worldly ideas out of you

 

Put your hands to the plow and don’t look back!!!
